Ian Smith (he/him) is an actor, theatre artist, and graduate of the Department of Theatre Arts at Ithaca College, where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre. He is drawn to work that provokes audiences to re-examine and confront their accepted and comfortable beliefs, routines and status-quos.
Ian grew up in New York City and has been around theatre since he spent the first months of his life in a Sweeney Todd rehearsal room at the Goodspeed Opera House, keeping his Dad company. He first graced the stage in kindergarten, with a rousing rendition of Munchkin #5 in The Wizard of Oz, and has been savoring every performance opportunity that has come his way ever since.
During college, Ian spent a semester abroad in London, where he saw tons of theatre and traveled across Europe with his best friends. During the summer of 2017, he was an Acting Apprentice at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, where he learned from seasoned professionals alongside fellow eager students and artists.
When he's not in the studio or on stage, Ian works as a Real Estate Agent with Compass, specializing in residential and commercial sales and rentals. More info about Ian, Real Estate Agent, HERE.
